I remember my mother reading me the Paddington Bear story at night before bed.
I loved Paddington and found his mishaps entertaining.
My family and I were blessed to attend the release party for “Paddington Movie” on Blu-ray™, DVD & Digital on April 28 at the Los Angeles Zoo. The event included tasty snacks, a private tour of the LA Zoo and many other activities.
As a child, I loved marmalade sandwiches. So imagine my surprise to see jam sandwiches in the shape of a bear at the event. For dessert, we had chocolate chip cookies, of course, Joy wanted to eat more cookies than sandwiches. During lunch, the kids were taught how to make cute red paper hats.
Next we were treated to a ride on The Tom Mankiewicz Conservation Carousel. This beautiful structure has 64 hand-carved painted wooden figures and artwork representing the flora of California. Located in the center of the Zoo, the carousel highlights many animals which the Los Angeles Zoo is working to save from extinction.
At the end of the event, we were surprised with a private tour of the LA Zoo. It was nice seeing the excitement in Joy’s eyes as we visited the monkeys and giraffes and many other animals. Click here to read more about our experience at the LA Zoo.
I received an advance Blu-ray copy of the Paddington Movie as a gift for attending the event, all the opinions are my own. The “Paddington Movie” is from the makers of “Harry Potter” and is a beautifully put together film. The animation is very creative, and the story line kept us interested from the start to Finish. If you are looking for a wonderful family film, “Paddington Movie” is a must have for your collections. “Paddington Movie” is available on DVD and Blu-ray Combo Pack on April 28, 2015 features an All-Star Cast including Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, and Nicole Kidman.
About the Movie:
After a deadly earthquake destroys his home in the Peruvian rainforest, a young bear (Ben Whishaw) makes his way to England in search of a new home. The bear, dubbed “Paddington” for the London train station, finds shelter with the family of Henry (Hugh Bonneville) and Mary Brown (Sally Hawkins). Although Paddington’s amazement at urban living soon endears him to the Browns, someone else has her eye on him: Taxidermist Millicent Clyde (Nicole Kidman) has designs on the rare bear and his hide.
